on the other hand, maybe there are some symbols which should not be accepted – the swastika, for example?  or naked women advertising toothpaste?

then there is the concern about the influence on society of certain recognisable groups (in this case, recognisable by the headscarf).  we’re frightened of proselytism;  I wonder if other minorities are frightened by the proselytism of majorities?  there are many such questions even in our societies:  is it good that non-christians should learn creationism-in-six-days at school?  is it good that romania is becoming a secular state?
this is a slightly abbreviated version of the original romanian - and without the pictures and the jokes!
